Mr John W. Bradfield

Mr. John W. Bradfield, age 92, of Greylock Road, Bristol, died Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of M. Delores (Santos) Bradfield and the late Josephine (Ruggieri) Bradfield. Born in Fall River, MA and resided in Newport for many years before moving to Bristol, he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth Bradfield. John worked for many years as a Police Officer for the Newport Police Department before retiring many years ago. He also worked as a security guard for the Newport Preservation Society for many years. John was a member of the Newport F.O.P. and a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Bristol. Besides his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Joanne Dormoy of St. Louis, MO and Barbara Donovan of Portsmouth and four step-children, thirteen grandchildren and step-grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and step-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and a brother, William Bradfield of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Besides his parents and wife Josephine, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister, Gilbert and Elizabeth. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Friday, December 5, 2014 at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Mary's Church 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery, 465 Brown Lane, Middletown. Visiting hours Friday Morning only from 9:00-10:00 AM.
