Mr James L. Mello

Mr. James L. 'Jimmy' Mello, age 66, of Tupelo Street, Bristol, died Monday, April 6, 2015 at RI Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Nancy (Iacovelli) Mello, his wife of 37 years. Born in Fall River, MA and raised in Bristol, he was a son of the late Manuel and Lillian (Tafe) Mello. Jimmy served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict as a Private First Class. He worked in the maintenance department at the Newport Navy Base for 30 years, retiring in 2003. Following his retirement, he moved to Killeen, Texas, where he worked part time doing Automobile Detailing. His passion was cars including antique cars and enjoyed spending time from working on engines to detailing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Kathleen Mendes of Vermont and Joan Pollard of Utah. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and John Mello and a sister, Lillian Mello. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation, Monday, April 13, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol.
