Mr Frank D. Pirri

Mr. Frank D. 'Butch' Pirri, age 77, of Rogers Avenue, Bristol, died Thursday, December 2, 2010 in Bristol. He was the husband of Angela (Corona) Pirri, his wife of 55 years. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was a son of the late Giuseppe and Francesca (Ciccio) Pirri. Frank was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School in Bristol, Class of 1951. He served in the US Air Force, during Korean War as an Airman First Class. After the war he attended both Providence College and Bryant University. He was a Vice President and Sales Manager for the former Ballou, Johnson and Nichols Company in Cranston for 42 years and then worked for the Zenith Corp of Chicago for several years retiring in 1995. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol, a member and past vice-president of the LaBella Sicilia Society, a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Life member of the Cup Defenders Association. Butch was a third degree and life member of Bristol Council # 379, Knight of Columbus, he was a member of the Bristol County Lodge of Elks, a member of the Colt Memorial Reunion Committee and he was inducted into the Bristol Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Frank J. Pirri of Providence, James Pirri of Warren and Robert E. Pirri of Bristol, six grandchildren, Jennifer, Alexander, Laura, Joshua, Jacob and Angela Pirri, a sister, Leonora Cirillo of Bristol. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Angelo and Pasquale Pirri and three sisters, Annie Cavallaro, Etta Oliveira and Pauline Rapoza. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Monday, December 6, 2010 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Sunday, December 5, 2010 from 2:00-6:00 PM.
