Frank Pagano, Jr. age 90, of Kickemuit Avenue, Bristol, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at his home on Pagano Farm. He was the husband of the late Ruth Mae (Alger)Pagano. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was the son of the late Frank and Amelia (Batti)Pagano. Frank and his late wife owned and operated the former Alger's News Stand in downtown Bristol until 1958. He was also a cabinet maker and had a furniture repair business for many years before retiring and tended to his farm until recently. Frank served in the US Army during WWIIand was a Purple Heart cluster recipient. He was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Bristol. He is survived by his children, Raymond C. Pagano of West Greenwich, Frank Pagano of Cranston, Phillip Bennett of Warren, William Heeks of Wakefield, Robert Heeks of Raeford, NC., Jamie Ervin of Tuscaloosa, AL and Maxine Mullis of Stockbridge, GA. He was the proud grandfather to twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. He also leaves his two sisters, Catherine Lombardi of Barrington and Eleanor Rodrigues of Bristol. Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by seven sisters, Sadie Stanzione, Mary Stanzione, Antoinette McConnell-Piccirilli, Rita Gallinelli, Stella Catalfano, Amelia Romano and Lena Costa and a brother, Bartholomew Pagano. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service with military honors Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 10:00 AMin North Burial Ground, Hope St., Bristol . Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bristol Rescue Squad, POBox 775, Bristol, RI02809 .
