Mr. Frank V. Francis, age 45, of 18 Glenview Drive, Bristol, died peacefully Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Wendy J. (Greer) Francis, his wife of 15 years. Born in Providence and a lifelong resident of Bristol, he was the son of Frank and Theresa (Morra) Francis, III of Bristol. A graduate of Bristol High School, Class of 1986, he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Roger Williams University in 1996 and then received his Masters in Business Administration from the University of RI in 2005. An Electrical Engineer he was the Engineering Manager for the Raytheon Corporation in Portsmouth for 15 years. He served in the RI Army National Guard 103rd Field Artillery Co. of Bristol from 1986 to 1992. He was active in the Bristol Theater Company serving on their Board of Directors for 5 years and working with Lighting and Sound production. He was a member of the Hopeworth Community Association and was their Treasurer for 10 years. At Raytheon Corp. he volunteered for their “Math Moves You Program” and was a mentor for high school students and a member of their Asian Pacific Club. He was active in the Rhode Island Interscholastic Lego Robotics program for Middle School Students where he was a Technical Judge for their annual competition at Roger Williams University. He loved spending time playing the guitar and loved time spent with his loving family. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Meghan L. Francis and a son, Riley J. Francis, both at home, two brothers, Joseph D. Francis (Maria) of Cranston and Christopher Francis (Deborah) of Barrington, two nephews, Christopher and Keith Francis and a niece, Caroline Ruggiero (Matthew). Also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jonnie and Sandra (Almeida) Greer and a grandmother-in-law, Veleta Almeida, all of Bristol. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 2:00-6:00 PM in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, RI.
