Mr Francisco V. Sousa

Mr. Francisco V. Sousa, age 89, of 77 Union Street, Bristol, died peacefully Saturday, July 11, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Filomena F. (Lemos) Sousa, who preceded him in death on Feb. 6, 2014. Born in the Azores, he was a son of the late Francisco V. and Rosa Sousa. A resident of Bristol for 46 years, he was a pattern cutter for the former American Tourister Company in Warren, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the St. Elizabeths Band Club in Bristol. He is survived by three children, Francisco A. Sousa, Filomena F. Botelho (James) and Marie C. Cabral (Daniel), all of Bristol, eight grandchildren, Michelle DeMello (Mike), Mary Ann Terra (Danny), Kevin Botelho (Elena), Amy Cardoza (Frank), Brian and Joshua Sousa, Dennis Cabral (Lisa) and Kenneth J. Cabral (Nicole), eleven great grandchildren, Logan Patrick and Jacoby Thomas Cabral, Abigail, Chloe and Grace Cardoza, Alex and James DeMello, Jayden and Nila Terra, Adriana and Lucas Botelho, five sisters, Rosa Gomes, Ostelina Lima, Marizinha Silva, Encarnasao Sousa and Ines Silva, all of the Azores. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Izidro, Joao and Simao Sousa. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 8:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Elizabeths Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
