Mr. David Barboza

Mr. David Barboza, age 91, of Bristol, died peacefully on August 9, after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Irene (Relle) Barboza, his wife of 64 years. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was a son of the late Manuel J. and Mary (Cabral) Barboza. He was a Korean War Army veteran, a Corporal, he served in Korea and following the war continued serving in the US Constabulary (police force) in Germany. His entire work career was in the shipping department and then in later years maintenance dept. for the former Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation at both their former Bristol and Portsmouth Plants. He was also the Vice President of the Union at Kaiser. David was a communicant of St. Marys Church, Bristol and a former member of the Bristol Democratic Town Committee, former Town Sealer of Weights and Measures and former member of the Bristol Tax Review Board. He was a former President of the King Philip Little League in Bristol and an avid Red Sox and NE Patriots fan. He is survived in addition to his wife, three children, David E. Barboza, Dee Ann Netto (Marshall) and Paul S. Barboza, all of Bristol and a grandson, Aaron P. Barboza (Sha) and a granddog, Pearse. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Frederick and Daniel Barboza and Manuel Barboza, Jr., and a sister, Louise Cheetham. A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal were held at the convienence of the family. Visitation was respectfully omitted.
