Daniel Morris Born Nov 27, 1931 to Manuel and his beloved mother, Madeline (Menese) Morris (deceased). Born, raised, & resided in Bristol his entire life. Known for his strong work ethic, dedication to family, and robust personality. Surrounded by his family, he passed on Sept 25, 2011. He fought a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was the dedicated husband to Adeline (Antunes)Morris. This coming Feb would have been their 60th wedding anniversary. His family was his biggest pride & joy. Devoted father to Robert Morris of Bristol, Sheila (David) Sardinha of Bristol, Gregg (Julie) Morris of Duxbury, MA, Rachel Morris of Tiverton. Preceded in death by Patricia (John) Goulart. He was supportive, like a father, to many others. Proud grandfather to Jarrod (Casey) Goulart of Warren, Jacob Sardinha of Bristol, and Colton Morris of Duxbury, MA. “Brother” to Raymond Morris of East Providence, Eleanor (John) Cabral of Bristol, Geraldine (Tony) Bettencourt of Touissett, & Bernadette (Tex) Wallace of Maine. “Uncle Danny” to many nieces & nephews. Enjoyed the fellowship of his many cousins, aunts, uncles, and sisters & brothers in laws. He was the consummate construction superintendent, known for demanding top workmanship done in fair time & expense. He gave 110% to his work and expected this of those around him. Before retiring in 1992, he was the proud employee of Marshall Contractors of Rumford. Traveling through RI, CT, & MA, many commercial buildings stand, with his hand in their creation. Family & friends appreciated his talented lending hand in many projects. His robust personality made for memorable encounters. He was 16 days shy of 60 years as a member of RI Carpenters Union Local 94. Before taking ill, he was a proud member of the Bristol Elks #1860, Bristol Cup Defenders Association, & Fall River Pigeon Racing Club, and an avid fan of the New England Patriots & Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed golf, fishing, bocce ball, card playing, gardening, and his occasional red wine. He enjoyed hosting gatherings of family & friends, while enjoying good food & drink. A man of deep faith, he was committed to honoring his Creator by how he lived his life each day. In celebration of his life, family & friends may meet Saturday, October 1st from 9-11am at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St, Bristol, followed by a Procession to a Graveside Service at North Burial Ground. A reception at Jackys Galaxy, 383 Metacom Ave, Bristol, will follow. Family & friends are welcome to join in commemorating his life.
