Mr. Charles E. Fortin, Jr.

Mr. Charles E. Fortin, Jr., age 64 of Constitution Street, Bristol, died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Janet A. (McLaughlin) Fortin, his wife of 37 years. Born in Fall River, MA and a lifelong resident of Bristol, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Annie (Vieira) Fortin, Sr. Charles served in the US Navy for 10 years aboard the USS San Diego. He was a mechanical engineer for the State of RI at the University of Rhode Island for over 30 years, retiring in September of 2011. An avid sports fan of the NE Patriots and the Boston Red Sox, he enjoyed Photography, Art, Fly Fishing with his hand tied flies, which he took pride in making and playing the guitar. In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Robert L. Fortin and a daughter, Melissa J. Leffingwell (Bryan), both of Bristol. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeths Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will be private. Visiting hours, Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
