Mr Benjamin Criscuolo

Mr. Benjamin Criscuolo, age 92 of Tobin Lane, Bristol, died Saturday, January 2, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Caroline G. (Stanzione) Criscuolo, for almost 68 years, who died in April of 2015. Born and raised in New Haven, CT, he was a son of the late Bonaventura and Anna (Calavolpe) Criscuolo. Ben served in the US Army as a Private First Class during WWII, serving in battles and campaigns in Normandy, Northern France and the Rhineland in the European African Middle Eastern Theater of the War. A resident of Bristol for over 68 years, he was a wire worker for the former Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp. at both their former Bristol and Portsmouth plants for 26 years, retiring in 1978. Previously he was an upholsterer in New Haven, CT. Ben was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol and he loved spending time with his late wife and all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Ben was always found on the sidelines for any of his grandchildrens sports games. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots Fan and enjoyed passing time watching old Westerns on TV with his family. He is survived by four children, Carol Ann Sterling (Robert) of Spring House, PA, Benjamin Criscuolo, Jr. (Allison) of Agoura Hills, CA, Elizabeth R. Saviano (Vincent, III) and Diane F. Lawless (Frank), all of Bristol, nine grandchildren, Kristin M. Risi (Brian Gatlin), Karin A. Risi (Sean McHale), Benjamin Criscuolo, III, Erika Lynn Saviano, Brian Criscuolo (Leah), Angela Marie Lawless, James A. Lawless, Paige E. Sterling and Maxwell Lawless and seven great grandchildren, Quinn Caroline, Benjamin, Willow, Riley, Lola, Bridget and Nathan, and a sister, Mary Esposito, of East Haven, CT. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Marie Criscuolo, four brothers, Louis, Nicholas, Salvatore and Anthony Criscuolo and three sisters, Carmel Savenelli, Margaret Iovino and Anna Criscuolo. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
