Mr Barry Joseph Brown

Barry Joseph Brown, born on April 29, 1949 in Hampton, VA died peacefully in the hands of the Lord on December 8, 2014 at Clare Bridge of Virginia Beach Estates. Barry graduated from Hampton High in 1968 where wrestling was his sport. Barry graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology Kodak School of Graphic Design in 1972. He then worked as the manager for a graphics shop on the Outer Banks, then he managed Builders Square in Hampton, VA, Home Depot of Virginia Beach and Kellogg Supply of Manteo. In his younger days, Barry was an avid fisherman, runner and more recently a bicycle rider on the Outer Banks. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus participating in the Mass, Food Pantry and fundraisers for charity. During his life, Barry touched many with his simple manner, tenderness and willingness to lend a helping hand. He is home in the hands of the Lord that he loved with his parents. He blesses each of you for your support and understanding during his long illness. Barry has one surviving brother, Timothy M. Brown of Jackson, Wyoming. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph E. Brown, Jr. aka 'Father Zipper' and Marie (Schinigoi) Brown aka 'The Nun with a Bun'. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 10:00 AM with a graveside service at 11:00 AM in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glennan Center (EVMS), FTD Research Center, 825 Fairfax Avenue, Suite 201, Norfolk, VA 23507. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Holy Redeemer by the Sea Catholic Church in Kitty Hawk, NC.
