Mr. Anthony “Pepper” “Paco” Pimental, age 97 of 22 Elmwood Drive, Bristol, died Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the Silver Creek Manor Nursing Home, Bristol surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Florence (Oliveira) Pimental. Born and raised in Tiverton till age 9 when he moved to Bristol, he was a son of the late Manuel and Amelia (Macado) Pimental. He was a heavy machine operator for the Bristol Town Highway Dept. for 34 years retiring in 1981. Anthony was the oldest living Bristol Town retiree. He had previously worked for the former Collins and Aikman Co., US Rubber Company along with the Kerr Mills and Liberty Mills in Lewiston, Maine during WWII to help the war effort. He was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Warren. He is survived by three children, Mona Carotenuti of Johnston, Bernice “Bunny” Correira (Manny) and Richard V. Pimental (Tammy), both of Bristol, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren and three grandcats. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Kenneth A. Pimental, Anthony “Tony” Pimental, Jr. and David Pimental and siblings, Manuel and Joseph Pimental, Josephine Sousa, Alice Vallancourt, and Mary Fernandes. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 8:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Avenue, Warren. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be Monday, November 9, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bristol Animal Shelter, Minturn Farm Road, Bristol, RI 02809.
