Miss Carmel I. "Emily" Carmone

Miss Carmel I. "Emily" Carmone, age 102 of Silver Creek Manor and formerly of Wood Street, Bristol, died Friday, January 18, 2019 at Silver Creek Manor. She was a daughter of the late John and Theresa (Palumbo) Carmone. Emily was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Bristol and was an assembly line worker for many years at the former US Rubber Company, Bristol, until retiring in the early 1970s. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol and a former member of its Rosary and Altar Society and Nocturnal Adoration Society. She was a volunteer for a number of years at the Bristol VFW post. Emily loved gardening, both vegetable and flowers for her yard. She was a loving and caring mother figure to all her many nieces and nephews. She is survived by a brother, George T. Carmone of San Mateo, CA and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was the sister of the late Michael V., Frank J., Mary E., and Robert A. Carmone, Vincenza E. Finnegan, Anna C. Aldrich, Josephine C. Valente, and Alice C. Lundry. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation will be Thursday morning only at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, or to Silver Creek Manor Patients Activities Fund, 7 Creek Lane, both Bristol, RI 02809.
