Mirsa M. Bozarth

November 10, 1927 — February 6, 2008

Mrs.Mirsa M. Bozarth of Bristol, R.I. died on February 6, 2008 at her home after a short illness. She was born in Albania November 10, 1927. Her parents Efterpi (Xibinaku) George and Thomas George are deceased. She grew up in New York City and Bridgeport, Connecticut. Before moving to Bristol in the early 1980's, she lived for many years with her husband and children in Barrington, RI. Mirsa graduated from Pembroke College in 1950. Though she went back to school and obtained a Master's degree in Education from Brown University, she chose to dedicate her life to her family and home. She had an inquisitive mind, a thirst for knowledge, and a wonderful sense of humor. She marveled at nature, its beauty and precision. She was known as being a very good cook, particularly of desserts. She enjoyed studying languages and word derivations. She read classic literature, poetry, The New York Times and many other literary publications. She gave to many Charitable Organizations. Mirsa was a pioneer in the practice of conservation. Long before it was popular to do so, she was re-using grocery bags, catching rain water for her garden, and encouraging family and friends to do the same. She was always conscious of waste and thinking of uses for items most people would discard. After her children were grown, she cared for family pets and her many houseplants. She enjoyed documenting grammatical errors in various publications. She was interested in the way language changed over time. Mirsa will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her four children: Rebecca M. Bozarth of Watsonville, CA, Peter G. Bozarth of Barrington, RI, Nathaniel J. Bozarth of The British West Indies, and Amy G. Shaw of Barrington, RI. Her brother: William George of Bridgeport, CT and her husband: John G. Bozarth of Rockport, MA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Barrington Partnership for Animal Welfare c/o Cindy Larson 6 Barneyville Road Barrington, RI 02806 or to Friends of Foley c/o Bristol Animal Shelter 395 Metacom Ave. Bristol, RI 02809.
