Michael J. Morra

Mr. Michael J. Morra, age 80, of Metacom Ave., Bristol, died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Geraldine Rose (Oliver) Morra, his wife of 57 years. Born in Bristol, and a lifelong resident, he was a son of the late Joseph and Caroline (DellaSelva) Morra. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Michael was a machine operator for the Kaiser Aluminum Corp. formerly in Bristol and Portsmouth and he also worked for the Bristol Harbor Patrol, Bristol Police Reserve, Pinkinton Security and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of RI. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeths Church, Bristol. Besides his wife, he is survived by his three sons, Michael O. Morra and his wife Linda, of Bristol, Glen D. Morra and his wife Kristen of Warren and Robert W. Morra and his wife Jo-Ann of Bristol, six grandchildren, Jenn, Brett, Stephen, Karlie, Jameson and Lauren, a brother-in-law, Edmund Oliver and his wife, Estelle of Bristol, and sisters-in-law, Beatrice Redies, of Ann Arbor, MI, and Mary Oliver of Warren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael James Morra, three sisters, Clelia Gray, Mary Balaban and Josephine Barraveccho, and two brothers Alphonse Morra and Theodore Tedesco. Funeral Services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Friday, June 4, 2010 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Elizabeths Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Thursday, from 4:00-7:00 PM.
