Maude L. Gagner

Mrs. Maude L. (Gardner) Gagner, age 85, of 1014 Hope Street, Bristol, died Sunday, June 3, 2007 at the Orchard View Manor Nursing Home in East Providence. She was the wife of the late Edward L. Carpenter, Jr., and the late Eugene L. Gagner. Born in Wakefield, she was a daughter of the late Rufus P. and Ethel L. (Taylor) Gardner. A resident of Bristol for the past 25 years, she previously resided in Wakefield for most of her life. She worked in the housekeeping department at the University of Rhode Island for 20 years before retiring in the early 1980s. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bristol. She is survived by two sons, Edward L. Carpenter, III of Port Charlotte, FL, Kenneth D. Gagner of Riverside, two daughters, Sharon E. DuPont, of Bristol, and Deborah L. Northup, of Wellington, ME, twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Rufus P. Gardner, Jr., and a sister, Evelyn A. Gardner. Funeral Services will be held from the Sansone Funeral Home 192 Wood St., Bristol Thursday, June 7 at 9:00 AM with a Service at 10:00 AM in the First Baptist Church, 250 High St., Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting Hours Wednesday, 4:00-8:00 PM.
