Mary Jane Ferreira

Mrs. Mary Jane (Soares) Ferreira, age 79, of St. Elizabeths Manor, 1 Dawn Hill Road, Bristol, and formerly of Warren, died Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of the late Manuel I. Ferreira. Born in Providence and a resident of Bristol for many years, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Ponte) Soares. She previously resided in Warren for six years and previous to that in Lake Suzy, Florida. Mrs. Ferreira was a honor graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1945 and was a member of the Rhode Island Honor Society. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeths Church, Bristol and a member of the Red Hat Society at St. Elizabeths Manor. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, playing bingo and cards and board games. She is survived by four sons, Paul J. Ferreira of Portsmouth, Robert Ferreira of Cottswold, England, Richard and Jeffrey Ferreira and a daughter, Susan M. Mancieri, all of Bristol. Twelve grandchildren; Paul J. Ferreira, Jr., Christian L., Stefan J., Kevin Robert, Haley A., Samantha Leigh, Timothy Michael, Christopher James, and Elaina Leigh Ferreira, Cory A., Meghan R. and Alex J. Mancieri. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Texeira. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 9:00 AM in St. Elizabeths Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Tuesday, March 27, 2007, 4:00-7:00 PM in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Elizabeths Manor Patient Activity Fund, 1 Dawn Hill Road, Bristol, RI 02809.
