Martha A. Marshall

Mrs. Martha A. (Adams) Marshall, age 85, of Leroy Ave, Riverside, died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the Miriam Hospital, Providence. She was the loving wife of John E. Marshall, her husband of 60 years. Born in Pawtucket, RI a daughter of the late Clinton F. and Sarah B. (Benson) Adams. Mrs. Marshall worked in the Probation Department for the State of RI before retiring in 2005. She was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps serving during WW II. In addition toher husband, she is survived by two sons, Alan J. Marshall of Conway, NH and Bruce E. Marshall of Carver, MA, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, a sister, Beverly OShea of Greenville and a brother, Clinton F. Adams, Jr., of Rensselaer, NY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Levesque and a brother, Keith Adams. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service, Monday, July 20, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol. Burial withmilitary honors will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Visitation Monday morning from 9-10 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Audubon Society of Rhode Island, 12 Sanderson Road, Smithfield, RI 02917.
