Marjorie T. Prenda

Marjorie T. (Matta) Prenda, 94, passed away with her family at her side on Monday, December 12, 2022. She was the devoted wife of the late Manuel Prenda for 48 years before his passing in 1995. Born in Rutland, MA, she was the daughter of the late Egidio and Elizabeth (Erano) Matta. Marjorie graduated from Rutland High School in 1946. Shortly thereafter, she married her beloved Manuel in February of 1947. Marjorie was a communicant of St. Marys Church in Bristol. She enjoyed Square Dancing. She was a longtime member of a walking group which enjoyed walks through Colt State Park. Marjorie is survived by her children: Maureen P. Giunta of Maine and David J. Prenda, Sr. (Kyna) of Bristol; her grandchildren: Jennifer Fleming, Scott Kovach, David J. Prenda, Jr., Jason P. Prenda, Sr., Elizabeth A. Gooding; her great grandchildren: Rachael A. Fleming, Layla A. Cocca, Cameron A. Kovach, Jude M. Gooding, Jason P. Prenda, Jr., Lucy P. Gooding, Thomas J. Prenda, Pipper-Ella Gooding; her sister Frances Zerella; and extended family and friends. She was pre-deceased by her husband Manuel, her daughter Evelyn A. Shaver, her parents, and her siblings: Alphonse Matta, Salvatore Matta, Josephine Gorzynski, twins Pearl and Elizabeth Matta, Louis Vincent, and Cecilia Murphy. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 4:00 PM 7:00 PM at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Sansone Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or The Ronald McDonald House.
