Marie C. Sullivan

Mrs. Marie (Celone) Sullivan, born May 23, 1914, of Adams Street, Quincy, MA, formerly of 104 Constitution Street, Bristol, died peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Eventides Home in Quincy. She was the wife of the late John W. Sullivan, Sr. Born in Bristol, RI and a lifelong resident, before moving to Quincy 4 years ago, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Lanzire) Celone.Marie was a Telephone Operator for the New England Telephone Co., in Bristol and Newport for 47 years, retiring in 1977. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. Marie was a member of the Barrington Womens Club, Bristol Historical and PreservationSociety, Leonardo DaVinci Lodge, Sons of Italy, Friends of Linden Place, Friends Blithwold Mansion and Gardensand the Bristol Garden Club. Marie was nicknamed “Gingha” by her grandson John, and known by her nieces and nephews as “Aunt Metch”.She is survived by her devoted son, John W. Sullivan, Jr., his wife, Christine and loving grandson, John G. Sullivan, allof Braintree, MA; two brothers, Ralph Celone and James Celone and his wife, Lenora, allof Bristol, her cousin Genny Marszalek of Bristol, and extended family members,a grandson, Steven J. Blease and his wife Dyanna and great granddaughters, Ava and Leah and granddaughter, Nicole Derosier andgreat grandsons Tyler Derosier, Michael and Steven Luongo; numerous nieces, nephews and loyal friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis Celone and Sam Celone and a sister, Josephine (Celone) Gancz.Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service, Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 PM. Marie requested that memorial contributions be made to Bristol Rescue Squad, P.O.
