Miss Margaret Mary “Peggy” Morris, age 89, of 50 Charles Street, Bristol, died Friday, November 2, 2007 at St. Elizabeths Manor, 1 Dawn Hill Road, Bristol. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Philip T. and Ellen Frances (Conway) Morris. Miss Morris was a clerical worker and payroll supervisor at the former Collins and Aikman Co. and later Dixon Industries for 19 years, retiring in 1983. She was a part time hostess at the Lobster Pot Restaurant for over 40 years. She was a communicant of St. Marys Church, Bristol where she was a member of the Womens Guild and a weekly offering counter. Miss Morris was the first woman to be on the Bristol Zoning Board of Review, which she held for 10 years. She was a 45 year member of the Bristol Fourth of July Committee, a member of the Bristol Democratic Womens Group, the International Sunshine Society, the Columban Fathers Bazaar Committee and a volunteer for “Meals on Wheels” for several years. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers, Philip T. Morris, Jr. and Andrew Owen Morris and her sister-in-law, Mary E. Morris, with whom she lived for many years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Marys Church “Restore Her Beauty Campaign”, 330 Wood Street, Bristol, RI 02809. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sansone Funeral Home, Bristol.
