Madeline Manchester

Mrs. Madeline (DelToro) Manchester, age 90, of 126 Berry Lane, Bristol, died peacefully Friday, April 16, 2010 at the Silver Creek Manor, Bristol, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert T. Manchester. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Biagio and Virginia (Pisani) DelToro. She worked for 15 years for Converse Rubber Company, formerly in Bristol, retiring in 1972. She had previously worked for the Best Made Dress Shop for several years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a member of the Rosary and Altar Society. She is survived by a daughter, Roberta A. Saucier (Bob) of Bristol, three sons, Robert T. Manchester, Jr., (Kathy) of Cranston, Daniel T. Manchester (Chris) of Bristol and James E. Manchester (Linda) of Belle Mead, NJ, five granddaughters, Dawn M. Galagarza, Kristeen Manchester, Beth S. Goodspeed, Kara Rocha and Katie Manchester, three great grandchildren, Robert and Ryan Galagarza and Kali Rocha, a sister, Helen Sloman of Bristol. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers; Anthony, Joseph, Frank, Venturo, Albert, Biagio and Andrew DelToro, three sisters, Nicoletta Calitri, Clara Garrity and Anna Melchers. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Tuesday, April 20 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Monday from 4:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Silver Creek Manor Activities Fund 7 Creek Lane, Bristol, RI 02809
