Mabel Lavina Desrosiers

Mrs. Mabel Lavina (Burger) Desrosiers, age 73, of 66 Maple Drive and formerly of Hancock Estates, Tiverton, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at St. Annes Hospital, Fall River, MA. She was the wife of the late Roger O. Desrosiers. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY, she was a daughter of the late William and Rosemary (Brower) Burger. A resident of Tiverton for the past 6 years, she previously resided in Florida, Warren and Bristol, RI and in the Artic Section of West Warwick for over 30 years. She worked at the former Edies Lounge in Artic for over 25 years, then she owned and operated the former Mays Place in Artic for several years. Then she worked at Jerrys Spa in Artic for a few years and worked and managed a Cumberland Farm Store in Bristol for a few years. Mrs. Desrosiers loved playing Bingo, Cards and Cribbage and spending time with her family. She is survived three sons, Donald Rogan, of Poughkeepsie, NY, Ignazio “Butch” Borsina, of Lancaster, NH, Bruce Desrosiers, of Coventry, Six daughters, Ruth and Arlene Borsina, both of Poughkeepsie, Jo Borsina, of Orlando, FL, Linda Ouillette, of Lincoln, NE, Joy Desrosiers, of Georgetown, TX and OKay Santos, of Tiverton, with whom she had made her home these last few years. Also survived by two sisters, Mary Brink of Poughkeepsie, Rosemarie Condon, of Largo, FL, two brothers, James and John burger of Poughkeepsie, fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosemary Spencer, a sister, Shirley Dehart and two brothers, George and William Burger. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of her life, Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 3:00 PM at the home of Rodney and Kay Santos, 66 Maple Drive, Tiverton, RI 02878. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements were entrusted to the Sansone Funeral Home, Bristol.
