Mrs. Mabel (Mello) Alves, age 96 of 7 Creek Lane, Bristol, RI, died Saturday, September 16, 2006 at the Silver Creek Manor Nursing Home, Bristol. She was the wife of the late Manuel Luiz Alves, Jr. Born in Tiverton, RI, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Amie (Sousa) Mello. She had worked for the former Berkshire Hathaway Company. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeths Church. She was very active with the activities at Benjamin Church Manor including being amember of the Benjamin Church Senior Citizens Chorus. Some of the other things she loved to do were going to plays, cards, singing andceramics. She is survived by two sons David A. Alves and Manuel L. Alves, III, adaughter Elaine A. Ferrara, allof Bristol, a sister Jeanette Soares of Hope Valley, RI, two brothers Frank Mello of Westport, MA and Manuel Mello of Tiverton. Also survived by ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Stella Mello, Bessie Tavares, Lottie Alves, and two brothers John and Alfred Mello. Funeral Services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Wednesday at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeths Church, 577Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting Hours, Tuesday 4:00-8:00 PM In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bristol Rescue Squad, P.O.
