Miss Lucy E. Murgo, age 89, of 180 Franklin St. and formerly of 331 High St., Bristol, died Monday, December 17, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Gaetano and Ermelinda (Cupolo) Murgo. Miss Murgo was a customer service representative for the former Tilden and Thurber Jewelry Company in Providence for 25 years, retiring in 1977. She was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1936 and had attended Johnson and Wales University. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol and a member of the Rosary and Altar Society, the Nocturnal Adoration Society, the 16th of July Feast Committee Member and the Right To Life Committee. She was a volunteer for many years at Blithewold Mansion and Gardens, Bristol. She loved baking and doing needlework, which she shared with many family members and friends with whom she was devoted to. She is survived by a brother, Michael Murgo of Bristol, three sisters, Antonetta Francis of Warren, Philomena Pezzullo and Doris Moskala, both of Bristol, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul F., John B. and Rudy M. Murgo. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, Friday, December 21 at 9 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut St., Bristol. Visiting hours Thursday, 4-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol, RI 02809.
