Mrs. Louise D. (DAmore) Barboza, age 96, of Thames Street, Bristol, died Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at the Silver Creek Manor, 7 Creek Lane, Bristol, where she was lovingly taken care of. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Barboza. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Julia (Valle) DAmore. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death in addition to her husband and parents by four sisters, Emilia and Mary Scungio, Emily Saviano and Adeleen D. Rielly. She worked for many years at Collins and Aikman Company and later at Dixon Corp. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. She was recognized by many as “Aunty” and the lady who drove the old 1967 Yellow Volkswagen. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, December 9 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol, RI 02809. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sansone Funeral Home, Bristol.
