Mrs. Lillian (Remka) Gemma, age 58, of 51 Vernon Street, Pawtucket, died unexpectedly, Thursday, July 19, 2007 at the Memorial Hospital of RI, Pawtucket. She was the wife of the late Ronald S. Gemma. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John and Lillian (Reed) Remka, she was a resident of Pawtucket for the past year, and previously resided in Smithfield and for most of her life in North Providence. She was a Cashier at the Building 19 in Pawtucket for the past five years. She is survived by a son, William C. Fleming, II and her son-in-law, Richard Giannini, of Bristol, two daughters, Tammie L. DaSilva and her son-in-law, Fernando, of Somerset, MA and Ashley J. Black of Pawtucket, a granddaughter, Serena DaSilva of Somerset, two step-daughters, Susan Cromby of South Attleboro, MA and Marie Gemma of New Mexico, a step-son, Ronald Gemma of Dighton, MA, a brother, John Remka, Jr. of Johnston, and a sister, June Stanley of Warwick. Also survived by 8 step-grandchildren and a step-great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Erica Fleming. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 10:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Marys Church, “Restore Her Beauty Campaign”, 330 Wood Street, Bristol, RI 02809 or to the American Heart Association, 222 Richmond St., Suite 108, Providence, RI 02903. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sansone Funeral Home, Bristol.
