Miss Josephine M. Campagna, age 94, of 115 Bradford Street, Bristol, died Sunday, October 28, 2007 following a brief illness at the St. Elizabeths Manor, Bristol, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (DAngelo) Campagna. Miss Campagna was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1932 where she was the Class Salutatorian. She was a purchasing and accounting clerk for Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp. formerly in Bristol and Portsmouth for 28 years, retiring in 1970. She had previously worked at the former US Rubber Co. Miss Campagna was a Communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol where she was a member of the former Altar Society. She loved playing bridge and knitting. She is survived by a sister, Rose H. Campagna, two brothers, Frank J. Campagna and C. Thomas Campagna, Sr., all of Bristol and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Frances Fasano, Helen, Mary and Marian Campagna and Mildred Merlino and a brother, Vincent A. “Jimmy” Campagna. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Friday, November 2, 2007 at 10:00 AM with a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Thursday, 4:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol, RI 02809.
