Mr. Joseph D. Santos, age 86, of Bristol, died Friday, November 21, 2008 at the Grand Islander Nursing Home, Middletown. He was the husband of the late Jessie L. (McNally) Santos. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was the son of the late Armando and Conceicao (Almeida) Santos. He worked as a Registered Pharmacist and the oldest living Pharmacist in Rhode Island. He worked for the County Road Pharmacy formerly in Barrington for 60 years retiring in 2002 he also worked for Campagnas Pharmacy for 15 years.He was a WW II Navy Veteran and he was a communicant of St. Elizabeths Church, Bristol. He will be sadly missed by a daughter, Gloria E. Pasqual, three sons, Robert L. Santos and Harold E. Santos, both of Bristol, the Rev. Joseph D. Santos, Jr., Parochial Administrator of Holy Name Church, Providence, a sister,Emily Santos of Bristol. Also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary OConnor and Irene Santos. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Tuesday,November 25, 2008at 10:00 AM with a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeths Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Monday, November 24,2008 from4:00-8:00 PM.
