Mr. Joseph D. Russo, age 74, of 52 Andrew Lane, Holliston, MA and formerly of Bristol, RI died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Milford Regional Medical Center in Milford, MA. He was the husband of Mary Louise (Teixeira) Russo, his wife of 45 years. Born and raised in Bristol, RI a son of Josephine (Cavallaro) Russo of Ft. Wayne, IN and the late Jerry Russo. A resident of Holliston for 43 years, he previously resided in Waltham, MA. He worked as Assistant Manager at Mayflower Furniture in West Newton. Then moved to Furniture Salesman at Goodwins Furniture in Framingham before retiring in 1995. He was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Bristol, RI Class of 1950. During High School he played Football, Basketball and Baseball, receiving the Pasquale C. Raiola Memorial Award for Athletic and Scholastic Achievement in 1950. He participated in the Holliston Softball League from 1968-1980. He has always been an avid fan of the NE Patriots, Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox and Mansfield High School Football, where he was an honorary member of the Coaching Staff. He was a communicant of St. Marys Church, Holliston, where he has been an usher at the Saturday evening 7:30 PM Mass for many years. His greatest attribute was his love of family and friends and the time spent with his family at the Cape. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by four children, Joseph D. Russo Jr. and his wife, Lisa A. of North Attleboro, MA,Mary Grace Lambert and her husband Mark A. of South Hadley, MA, Jerry M. Russo, of Millis, MA, James J. Russo and his wife Deborah M. of Millis, MA, six grandchildren, Joseph D. III and Brendan M. Russo, Joseph J. and Michael P. Lambert, Heather N. and Steven M. Russo, two brothers, Jerry Russo of New Ringgold, PA and Michael Russo and his wife, Carole of Wilmington, NC, a sister, Anna Russo of Ft. Wayne, IN, three aunts, Carmela Russo and Josephine Favro of Bristol, RI and Rose Capone of Providence, RI and an uncle, Sam Cala of Long Island, NY. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, RI Wednesday, June 20 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Tuesday, 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
