Mr. Joseph Gama, Jr., age 85, of 70 Warwick Ave., Apt. 609, Cranston, and formerly of Bristol, died Monday, March 19 at his daughters home in Tiverton. He was the husband of Evelyn L. (Rudzki) Gama, his wife of 31 years. A resident of Cranston for the past 40 years, he previously resided in East Providence and Bristol. Mr. Gama was a Dry Cleaner for the former Ocean State Cleaners in Barrington for over 25 years, retiring in 1999. He previously was the owner of the former Family Cleaners, formerly on Bradford St., Bristol for many years. He served in the US Army during WWII. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Kathleen P. Miller of Tiverton and Rosemary Gama of Warren, a sister, Dorothy Foley of East Providence, two step children, Alison Toronczak and Carl Duke, both of Warwick, four grandchildren, Christine D. and Albert J. Hunt, Angela Riopel, all of Warren, Melissa Mussati, of Dunstable, MA, six great grandchildren, Jared Hunt, Joshua Coriveau, Michael J. Riopel, II, Emily and Benjamin Hunt and Samuel Schiedler, a great great grandson, Sean David Hunt and two step grandsons, Nicholas Burton and Eryk Toronczak. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorraine D. Hunt and a sister, Alvarina Vilani and two brothers, Michael and Alvaro Gama. Funeral services and burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the RI Veterans Home Chapel Fund, 480 Metacom Ave., Bristol, RI 02809. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sansone Funeral Home, Bristol.
