Mr. Joseph J. Gallagher, age 88, of 80 Aaron Ave, Bristol, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Mary E. (Miner) Gallagher, her husband of 62 years. Born in Bristol, RI he was a son of the late John J. and Rose (Nunes) Gallagher. Mr. Gallagher was an Administrative Manager Controller for the Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corp in Edison, NJ retiring in 1976. He also for the State of RI as a Labor Relations Hearing Officer. He was a WW II US Navy Veteran serving on the USS Ranger. He was a communicant of St. Marys Church, Bristol. He was a former Treasurer for the Bristol Town Committee, former Bristol Town Councilor from 1956-1962. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Michele Menard of Warwick, a son, Michael Gallagher of East Greenwich, three granddaughters, Tracy Coppola, Kelly Gallagher both of East Greenwich, Shanna Gallagher of Bristol. Three great great grandsons CJ, Chad and Cody Coppola. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph J. Gallagher, Jr. and a grandson Jack Gallagher, two sisters, Mary Gallagher-Ferguson and Martha Gallagher-OBrien. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, April 14 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting Hours, Friday 4:00-8:00 PM.
