Jonnie C. Greer

Jonnie C. Greer, 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2024 in the home he designed and built surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Almeida) Greer for 55 years before his passing. Born in Karnack, TX, he was the son of the late Freddie and Pauline (Walls) Greer. After graduating from high school in Hallsville,Texas, Jonnie went on to serve our nation in the United States Navy. He enjoyed working with his hands, especially when metal was involved. A welder by trade, Jonnie was a Welding Engineer by day and was also self-employed for 40 years, retiring in 2016. A caring man, Jonnies most precious moments were those spent with his family. Jonnie never missed a grandchilds event ranging from soccer to ballet. Jonnie leaves behind his wife Sandra; his children: Wendy Francis (Donald Hughes) and Randy Greer (Jessica); and his grandchildren: Meghan Francis, Riley Francis, Sydney Greer, Khloe Greer, and Aidan Greer. He was pre-deceased by his parents Freddie and Pauline and his brother David Greer. A Visiting Hour will be held at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 8:00 AM 9:00 AM. His funeral will begin from Sansone Funeral Home at 9:00 AM with a Requiem Eucharist Service at St. Michaels Episcopal Church, 399 Hope Street, Bristol at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
