John K. Connery

John K. Connery, age 80 of 123 High Street, Bristol, died Sunday, January 21, 2007 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of the late Ruth M. (Benson) Connery. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was theson of the late James J. and Nellie B. (Flanagan) Connery. Mr. Connerywas the former Tax assessor for the Town of Bristol for 7 years retiring in 1993. Previously he worked for the former US Rubber Company and Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp. formerly in Bristol & Portsmouth. He was aUS Navy Veteran of W.W. II. He was a communicant of St. Marys Church where he taught the Marriage Preparation Classes and was involved with the Christian Family Movement.He was a member of the Bristol Art Museum, Friends of Linden Place and Rogers Free Library. He also volunteered for E.C.H.O. in Bristol. He is survived by his three children, Matthew G. Connery of Pasadena, CA, John B. Connery and Ellen M. Connery both of Providence, a brother, James Connery of Bristol and a sister, Catherine Reynolds of Middletown. Funeral Services from the Sansone funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, Friday at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Thursday, 5:00-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made tothe Bristol 4th of July Committee, P.O. Box 561, Bristol, RI 02809.
