John C Silvia

Mr. John C. Silvia, age 82, formerly of 55 Cedar Drive, Bristol, died Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Crestwood Nursing and Convalescent Home, 568 Child St., Warren. He was the husband of the late Lucy (Annarummo) Silvia. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was the son of the late Jose C. and Maria Silvia. Mr. Silvia was a wire worker for the Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp at both of their former Bristol and Portsmouth Plants for 36 years, retiring a number of years ago. Following his retirement he owned and operated a Lawn Care Service for 10 years. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church, Bristol. He is survived by a brother, Frank C. Silvia of Bristol and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph C. and Manuel C. Silvia, four sisters, Rose C. Viera, Margaret McKenna, Flora S. Lande and M. Lucy Carraturo. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, Sept. 14 at 9:00 AM in St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sansone Funeral Home, Bristol.
