JoAnne Quito, 86, of Bristol passed away peacefully at her beloved home in Bristol on Wednesday May 26, 2021 with her family at her side. She was the wife of the late Peter A. Quito for 47 years until his passing in 2001. Born in Bristol, she was the daughter of the late Fortunato and Elizabeth (Ascoli) Squatrito. JoAnne graduated from Colt Memorial High School as Salutatorian of the class of 1952. JoAnne then continued her education at Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. In 1983 she and her husband Peter served as the Chief Marshalls for the Bristol 4th of July parade. JoAnn was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bristol as well as a member of the Holy Rosary and Altar Society. She enjoyed cooking and serving patrons at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel July Feast. She volunteered at Blithewold Mansion, Gardens and Arboretum, enjoyed golfing and was an avid tennis player. JoAnne entertained many tennis tournaments at her home on Gibson Road and was quite the competitor. She was the owner and operator of Quitos Restaurant in Bristol for many years. She worked at Quitos Restaurant all of her life and enjoyed meeting and greeting the many patrons who enjoyed her smile, fashionable outfits and congeniality. JoAnne is survived by her children: Marcia B. Principe (Anthony), Albert P. Quito (Lorri), Lisa A. Dion (Richard); her grandchildren: Joanna Beth Zesk (Walter), Anthony P. Principe (Stephanie), Alyssa L. Coelho (Robert), Peter L. Quito (Sara), Michael C. Quito, Alex R. Dion, Laura E. Dion, Nicholas P. Dion; her great grandchildren: Noelle B. Zesk, Corinne J. Zesk, Serafina I. Principe, Sadie A. Quito, Gabriel Coelho; her siblings: Jerome M. Squatrito (Tonella), Robert J. Squatrito (Margaret), and Anne Mae Boyer (Dennis). She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends. In death, JoAnne is reunited with her husband Peter and her parents Elizabeth and Fortunato Squatrito. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday June 3, 2021 at 10AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 140 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting Hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to either the American Heart Association or St. Judes Research Hospital.
