Jerry Vollaro, 69, of Bristol, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home on
Saturday, May 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted
husband of Anna (Brewer) Vollaro, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage.
Born in Providence, RI, Jerry was the son of the late Alphonse and Florence
(Rabideau) Vollaro. He was a graduate of Bristol High School, Class of 1974, and
went on to serve his country with honor as a member of the United States Marine
Corps. His service continued as he worked as a cook at the Rhode Island Veterans
Home, preparing meals for fellow veterans.
To all who knew him, Jerry had a lifelong love of sports — not just as a spectator,
but as a talented and passionate player. Whether it was baseball, football, golf, or
serving as an umpire in the men’s softball league, Jerry brought energy and passion
to every game. He played with confidence and a competitive spirit, often
outshining the rest.
He was a devoted fan through and through. Yankee pinstripes and Cowboys silver
weren’t just team colors — they were part of who he was.
One of his most treasured memories was being in Atlanta in 1994 with his wife,
watching the Dallas Cowboys win the Super Bowl against the Buffalo Bills — a
moment of pride and pure happiness that stayed with him always.
Jerry leaves behind his wife, Anna; daughters, Julia A. Vollaro and Holly R. Dias
(husband Christopher); and grandchild, Christopher Dias, Jr. He was eagerly
awaiting the arrival of his granddaughter, Aubrey Addison Dias. He is also
survived by his siblings: Kenneth Vollaro, Paul R. Vollaro (wife Elaine), and
Maryann Vollaro Marshall (husband Alan).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Florence, and his brother,
David M. Vollaro.
