Mr. Jerry E. DeLuca, age 90 of 6Chilton St., Bristol, died Sunday, August 30, 2009 at the Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of the late Irene L. (Lucchesi) DeLuca. Born in Bristol, RI and a lifelong resident, he was the son of the late Tindaro and Calogera (Munafo) DeLuca. Mr. DeLuca was a forman and lab technician for 48 years, for the former Fulflex Inc., formerly in Bristol before retiring in 1985. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army Air Corp during WW II serving in England. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, a member of the LaBella Sicilia Society, the ITAM Veterans and served as a Past Senior-Vice Commander, a member of the Anthony C. Almeida Post # 237, VFW. He had attended Bryant College. He is survived by a daughter, Joyce T. McKale and her husband Thomas of Barrington, three brothers, Anthony Deluca of Bristol, Dr. Frank DeLuca of Barrington and Dr. Carl DeLuca of Naples, FL, a sister, Lucy Sanacore of Lake Worth, FL, two grandchildren, Meghann K. McKale of New York City and Ryan T. McKale of Barrington. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Joseph DeLuca and Ralph DeLuca, and two sisters, Rose Terranova Romano and Elizabeth Franciosi. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, Friday, September 4, 2009 at 9:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut St., Bristol. Visiting hours will be Thursday, 7:00-9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, New York City Chapter, 360 Lexington Ave., 4th Floor, New York, NY 10017 or Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol, RI 02809.
