Jennie Dorothy Dipippo

February 21, 1930 — June 26, 2025

Mrs. Jennie D. DiPippo, age 95, died peacefully Thursday, June 26, 2025. Jennie was the devoted wife of Alfred “Al” DiPippo for 47 years until his death in 2004. She was born in Bristol on February 21, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Michele and Maria Antone (Romanelli) Ruggiero. Jennie graduated from Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1948. Shortly after her marriage to Al, they move to Connecticut and eventually resided in Enfield. Jennie worked at the Enfield High School Cafeteria for over 40 years. She loved her many co-workers who became her lifelong friends and all the kids she met over her years there. In 2021, Jennie moved to Pennsylvania where she resided with her daughter and family until her death.

Jennie, or most affectionally known be her grandchildren and many others as “Nana Butt”, was a very special and loved person. She loved her family, faith, and her hometown of Bristol. She returned to Bristol whenever she could to attend 4th of July celebrations, holidays and special family events. Jennie was up for any adventure and traveled often with her family to enjoy musicals, football games, dance recitals, graduations and the many shopping trips as she loved to shop! In 2024 she cruised to the Bahamas on a family trip with her daughters, son-in-law and grandchildren. She had that special knack of finding something in common with anyone she talked with, making everyone she met and knew feel special. Her face lit up whenever children were around her and could often be heard say “our children are the most beautiful”.

Jennie is survived by her daughters, Nancy (the late Kenneth) Starr and Kathy (Richard) Aikens and her grandchildren Michael and Madison Aikens and Kayleigh and Kenna Starr. She adored her grandchildren and shared a very special bond with Madison who will forever remember her special times with her Nana Butt. Jennie is survived by her sister, Lenora (William) Delmage of Bristol, and many loving nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters and brother’s-in-law, Lena and Edward Proto, Anna and John Carre, Nancy and Jimmy Colardo, and Martha and Joseph Andrade. Although she will be greatly missed, we know Jennie is happy in heaven with her parents and sisters whom she missed dearly. Jennie was a devout Catholic, kind to everyone she met and truly believed in God’s command to “Love each other as I have loved you”.
