Jean Lillian Cicero

July 8, 1938 — April 18, 2021

Jean L. (Parent) Cicero, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by her four daughters on April 18, 2021 after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph Cicero for many years until his passing in 2008. Born in Warren, RI she was the daughter of the late Lillian (Johnson) and Alfred Parent, Sr. Jean was a woman of simple pleasures; she enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, cooking and baking, reading, puzzles, music, and casinos. She was an avid fan of Jeopardy and anyone who knew her knew not to call between 7:30-8:00 when the show was on. She also enjoyed feeding and watching her multitude of wild birds, especially the cardinals, and caring for her two kittens. Throughout her life she worked in several fields including: nanny, retail, management, accounting, and manufacturing; however, these were just jobs. Her real and lasting work was the help she provided to family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers. Jean selflessly offered herself as a caregiver, a childcare provider, a cook, and a housekeeper; she even opened her home a time or two to help someone in need. Her generosity and acts of kindness are many. One of her greatest accomplishments in life was being a devoted wife to the love of her life, our Dad. They were married 49 years through good times and bad, through sickness and health; and when Dad passed, a part of her was forever lost as well. Time did not mend her broken heart and she looked forward to the day that she would be reunited with him. Wed like to believe she is with him and holding his hand now. Her greatest enjoyment in life was raising her children, helping to raise her grandchildren, and to welcome and enjoy the company of her great-grandchildren. This is especially significant because she had a difficult childhood, losing her own mother at the age of 10, being separated from her siblings and, for a time, living in an orphanage. With steadfast determination she made it her mission to mother and care for those around her and she became a mother to many. When she had her own children she made it her lifes goal to provide her children with all the love, the stability, and the wonderful childhood experiences that she herself did not have. In these, she succeeded beyond measure. Her lasting legacy will always be the love and values she instilled in us all and these are how she will always be remembered. Jean leaves behind her children: Julie A. Power (John), Jo-Ann Morra (Robert), Jana L. Longo (John), Jill M. Cicero (Michael); her grandchildren: Courtney A. Moore (Troy), Stephanie J. Power, Jennifer L. Morra (Sean), Stephen J. Morra (Lindsey), Lauren E. Morra, Jonathon M. Longo (Brianna), Jami L. Longo, Jenna A. Longo, and River C. Torres; and her great grandchildren: Amaiya A. Moore, Erik C. Moore, T.J. Moore, Jaxon J. Morra, and Austin N. Alegria. Jean was able to see her newest great-grandchild, Thomas J. Longo, born just last week through pictures. Jean also leaves behind her sister and life-long friend, Aldea Stanzione. In death Jean is reunited with her husband Joseph, her parents Lillian and Alfred, and her brothers: Alfred J. Parent, Jr. and George Parent.
