Jane M. Schloesser

Jane M. (Hunter) Schloesser, 82, of Tiverton passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 19, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was the devoted wife of Gerald W. Schloesser for the past 62 years. Born in East Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Alton and Blanche (Hall) Hunter. She attended East Providence High School and graduated in 1958. She was a communicant of Third Baptist Church in Fall River. She was a member of Second Baptist Church for 12 years and later a member of Zion Gospel Temple for 18 years. She was a Sunday School Youth Teacher for 24 years. She worked briefly at Providence Metolizing in the billing department then chose to stay home and raise her family. Jane met her husband Gerry who was in the Navy and stationed in Newport, RI in 1958. They later married in September of 1961. She was very artistic and enjoyed a variety of crafts. Camping in New Hampshire was her favorite vacation activity. Loving kindness and caring were her greatest attributes which she showed to all who knew her. The family would especially like to thank the Southcoast Health Visiting Nurse Association hospice team that was designated to for Jane. They were very professional, caring, and compassionate which was also extended to the family. Jane is survived by her husband Gerald, her children: Susan Lynn Dippolito, Keith Alan Schloesser, Terrie Ellen Hoetzel (Steven); her grandchildren: Jessica Schloesser, Aaron Schloesser, Steven Dippolito, Brian Dippolito, Nicholas Hoetzel, Jonathan Hoetzel; her sister: Claire Bernard; and extended family and friends. She was pre-deceased by her parents Alton and Blanche and her seven siblings. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Third Baptist Church, 260 Stafford Road, Fall River, MA 02721.
