Jacob Robert Winokur

Jacob "Jake/Jack" Winokur, 70, of Bristol passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023, surrounded by family, at Roger Williams Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Susan Andrews Winokur. Born in Beverly, MA, he was the son of the late Wolf and Ina (Fruchtman) Winokur. Starting out as a cook at Kentucky Fried Chicken at the age of 16, Jake worked his way up to District Manager. During his spare time, he could be found at Beechtree Stables riding "Hot Toddy" or dabbling in antiques. After getting married he turned his love of antiques into a career and first opened The Treasure Map Antiques on Pickering Wharf in Salem, MA. Then expanded into several locations throughout New England, and finally opened Lost Treasures Antiques Center in Seekonk, MA. Being the son of two Holocaust survivors, Jake made family time a priority. Jake was a Disney fan, in addition to collecting Goebel Disney figurines, the family enjoyed annual trips to Disney World. In addition to his wife Sue, Jacob is survived by his son, Jonathan; his daughter Pamela; his son-in-law, Jonathan; his granddaughter, Priscilla; his bonus daughter, Vik; his sisters, Marlene and Edyce; his in-laws Ellen, Dave, Stephen, and Carlton; many nieces and nephews; and many friends and associates. Jacob was pre-deceased by his parents Wolf and Ina, and his brother Joseph. Visiting Hours will be held at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol from 9-11 AM on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. A graveside service will be held at North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 12 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to St. Judes Research Hospital.
