Mrs. Ida Mary (Proto) Iiams, age 84, formerly of Bradford Street, Bristol, died Monday, July 20, 2009 at the Grace Barker Nursing Home in Warren surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident she was the daughter of the late Pietro and Josephine (Cappucci) Proto. Mrs. Iiams was a homemaker and she loved spending her time with her family and friend. She attended Colt Memorial High School. She will be sadly missed by her children Robert A. Iiams of Warren, Richard L. Iiams of Fall River, MA, Kathleen R. Duarte of Barrington, Debra A. Dolan of Cranston and Michael C. Iiams of Bristol, Her eight grandchildren Thaddeus Iiams, George D. Duarte, Jr., Melanie Iiams, Jessica Iiams, Nathan Iiams. Kimberly A. Dolan, Hollis F. Dolan and Michelle L. Formisano. She will also be sadly missed by her six great grandchildren and her sister Angelina Proto of Bristol. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Peter, Michael and Domenic Proto, four sisters,Madeline Proto, Antoinetta Quito, Virginia Sousa and Gilda Ascolia. Funeral Services and burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sansone Funeral Home, Bristol.
