Hilda G. Hughes

Mrs. Hilda G. (Grasse) Hughes, age 90, of Franklin Court, 180 Franklin Street, and formerly of 123 Fales Road, Bristol, died Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of the late William J. Hughes. Born in Portsmouth, RI she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Rita (Alves) Grasse. A resident of Bristol for 45 years, she previously resided in Portsmouth. She was a communicant of St. Marys Church, Bristol and active with many parish groups. She is survived by a step daughter, Rosetta DeLuca of Bristol, a sister, Teresa Bodah of Portsmouth, six step grandchildren and a step great granddaughter. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a step son, William J. Hughes, Jr. and a step daughter, Ann Marie Blackburn, and a sister, Josephine Sousa. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, November 13 at 10:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. The family will receive friends Monday morning from 9:00 - 10:00 AM in the Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol, RI 02809. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sansone Funeral Home, Bristol.
