Herminia (Moniz) Soares Pacheco, 90, of Bristol passed away peacefully in Bristol on Friday, January 23, 2026 with her family at her side. She was the widow of the late Antonio B. Pacheco for 39 years before his passing in July of 2007.
Born on Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Jose Macedo and Maria De Estrela.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Church in Bristol for many decades. Herminia worked for several local companies including Converse and American Tourister. She enjoyed baking Portuguese tea biscuits, watching wrestling and soccer, listening and dancing to music, going for long walks and shopping. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and making memories.
Herminia is survived by her children: MaryJo Jacome and Antonio Xavier Pacheco; her grandchildren: Tanya Santos (Stephen), Justin Cabral (Tara), Brianna Pacheco; her great grandchild: Navy Rae Santos; and her brother Jose Luis Soares; and many extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Antonio B. Pacheco; her parents Jose and Maria; and her siblings: Lurdes Sousa, Eduarda Cabral, and Mariano Soares.
Visiting Hours will be held at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol on Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 PM. Her funeral will start from Sansone Funeral Home on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
