Grace L. Silva

Mrs. Grace L. (Head) Silva, age 78, of 13 Violet Court, Bristol, died Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of the late Alfred Silva. Born in Providence, RI and a lifelong Bristol resident, she was a daughter of the late William and Irene (Taylor) Head. Mrs. Silva was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Marys Church, Bristol. She loved bingo at the Senior Centers and Senior Trips. She was also a member of the Bristol Democratic Town Committee. Survivors include two sons, Alfred Silva of Warren, and James B. Silva of Bristol, two daughters, Grace M. Jacques of Bristol, and Joan M. Charette of Tiverton, seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Cory Jacques, James B. Silva, Jr., Jason M. and Kevin E. Silva, Rachel A. and Alec R. Charette. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Irving, and Earl Head, four sisters, Irene Paydon, Ruth Catalano, Dorothy Almeida, and Virginia Willett. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Tuesday, May 13, 2008 from 5:00-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bristol Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 775, or to St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, both Bristol, RI 02809.
