Gordon W. Meiggs

Mr. Gordon W. Meiggs, age 81 of 29 Greylock Road, Bristol, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband ofDoris (Gervais) Meiggs, his wife of 56 years. Born in Bristol, RI and a lifelong resident, he was a son of the late James F. and Elizabeth (Curran) Meiggs. Mr. Meiggs was a partner with his son of the Gordon W. Meiggs Plumbing & Heating Co. in Bristol, where he worked for 61 years. He was a Veteran of the US Navy serving in WW II. He was a communicant of St. Marys Church, Bristol. He was a former member of the Frank O. Rene/Gordon Meiggs Bowling League at Dudeks in Warren, He loved fishing, boating, his family and took great pride in his work. In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Gordon W. Meiggs, Jr., three daughters, Maureen Baccaro and Kathy Donato, all of Bristol, and Patricia Bragantin, of Warren, six grandchildren, Lisa and Michael Cayton, Lindsey and Kelly Bragantin and Katie and Emile Donato and agreat granddaughter, Brittney Brum. Also survived by three sisters, Katherine Meiggs, Martha Costa and Theresa Lake, all of Bristol. In addition tohis parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and James N. Meiggs and a sister, Mary Meiggs. Funeral services will be held from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol Wednesday, June 27at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting Hours, Tuesday 4:00-8:00 PM. Kindly omit flowers.
