George A. Perron

On March 22, 2023 beloved husband, father, and friend, George Andrew Perron passed away in his 90th year. George was born in Fall River, Massachusetts to Ruth Ann (Bigelow) and George Perron Sr. During the Korean war, George served as a photographer in the Navy on an aircraft carrier in the Caribbean. He was employed at Pratt and Whitney in Connecticut. He completed his banking certificate in 1968 from Williams College and managed several area banks, including the BMC Durfee Trust in Fall River, MA and Shawmut Bank in New Bedford, MA. He also held a Realtors License and a Health, Life, and Annuities Agent License. He was a member of Mensa International. George had many interests and talents, including rock and shell collecting and raising exotic birds and fish. He turned his passion for learning and history into a successful antique dealership (The Old Paperphiles), which he continued to dabble in until his passing. He was a talented artist and writer, and had a passion for snorkeling, traveling, spearfishing, and wildlife photography. He served as a Deacon for many years at Baptist Temple Church in Fall River, MA. He lived out his faith and brought his family up in it by providing strong leadership and being a true example of a follower of Christ. George was devoted to his family and to his beloved wife of 69 years, Juliette Constance (Mederios) Perron. He also leaves 5 children and their spouses, Susan and Steven Fezette, Robert and Renee Perron, Elizabeth and Donald Rosen, Ruth Kilby, Carolyn and David Belanger. He also leaves 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He will be missed tremendously and will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his faith, curiosity, wisdom, and sense of humor. On Saturday May 20, 2023 at 10 AM, family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of life to be held at Baptist Temple Church, 700 North Eastern Avenue, Fall River, MA.
