Gary A. Amaral

Mr. Gary A. Amaral, age 41, of 30 Lauren Dr., Portsmouth and formerly of Bristol, died Wednesday, Jan. 3 at the Newport Hospital, Newport. He was the husband of Michelle (Phillips) Amaral, his wife of 18 years. Born in Fall River, MA and raised in Bristol, he was a son of George and Barbara (Souza) Amaral of Bristol. Mr. Amaral owned and operated Amarals Plastering of Portsmouth for the past 21 years. He was an avid Bow Hunter and a member of the Prudence Island Bow Hunters Association, he also enjoyed Fishing, Golfing and Cooking. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by three daughters, Chelsea Beth, Devyn Nicole, and Alexandria Rose Amaral, all of Portsmouth, two sisters, Paula Parella and Sandra Harper, both of Bristol, three brothers, Wayne Amaral of Warren, Mark Amaral of Coventry and Russell Amaral of Bristol. Also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Antonetta Phillips of Johnston and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, Jan. 8 at 9 AM in St. Elizabeths Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope St., Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers a fund has been set up to benefit Gary's childrenat Citizens Bank, Attn.: Tracy Holmes, 464 Hope St. RI-181, Bristol, RI 02809 or taken to any of the Citizen Bank Branches in Bristol. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sansone Funeral Home, Bristol.
