Frank S. Bruno

Mr. Frank S. Bruno, age 78, of 150 Franklin St, Bristol, died Friday, November 21, 2008 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of the late Camille (Raiola) Bruno. Born in Bristol,and a lifelong resident, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Raia) Bruno. He worked as a Detective for the Bristol Police Department for 26 years retiring in 1984. He also worked as an Investigator for the RI Family Court in Providence for 10 years retiring in 1997. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol,and a member of the Battery “C” 243rd National Guard and the 1111th Military Police, Newport. He was an honorary member Fraternal Order of Police, Inducted into the Bristol Athletic Hall of Fame 1990, and Director OLMC C.Y.O. 1973-1975. He was graduated from Colt Memorial High, Bristol, Class of 1949,and he received an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement from Salve Regina College and completed advance studies at URI in Scientific Criminal Investigation. He will be sadly missed by his son, Joseph P. Bruno and his sisters Anne DiMezza and Sarah Diodati all of Bristol, five grandchildren, Laurie Ellen, Alaina Beth, Briana Lynn, Nicholas Michael and Alexandra Beth Bruno and great grandchild, Kennedy Evangelista. In addition tohis wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth J. Bruno, four brothers, Paul, Joseph, Samuel and Louis Bruno, and a sister, Jenny Arouca. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Friday, November 28, 2008 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol, RI 02809.
